A mock interview, also known as a practice interview, is a simulation of an actual job interview. It provides you with an opportunity to practice for an interview and receive feedback.

A mock interview helps to answer difficult questions, develop interview strategies, improve student’s communication skill and reduce the stress before an actual job interview.

During a mock interview, the interviewer may use a semi-structured interview format rather than asking a formal list of questions. It can help the students to understand what is expected in a real job interview, and can help them to improve his or her self-presentation. Mock interview can be videotaped; the candidate can view the video afterward, and get feedback. There are coaches who can provide feedback on aspects of the interview process.

Mock interviews can help a person to gain confidence for real interviews, as well as provide the candidate with information about how to handle an upcoming interview.
